The landrush period for .kr (Korean) domains has now been extended until the 18th of April. Until now the .kr domain was only available in the second level, i.e. mydomain.co.kr but first level .kr registrations are now open for registration.

Over 70% of South Korea’s population is reported to use the Internet on a regular basis, the highest usage percentage for any country. The one reason so few domains have sold to date is the restriction on .kr ownership to Korean legal entities.
